Highlights and Reminders:

STAFF FAVORITES: The 2025-2026 Staff Favorites document is now live, with some improvements!  You can now search for your staff member, click on their name, and get a one-page printable document with all of their favorites and preferences.  We are still working on adding additional staff members over the next few weeks, so please reach out to wcgs.auxiliaryvp@gmail.com if you can’t find your staff member listed.

SCHOLARSHIP AUCTION HOMEROOM BASKETS:  As announced at the Fall Fellowship Gatherings, the Scholarship Auction Committee is calling all homerooms to consider working together to create a curated gift basket to donate to our Scholarship Auction coming up on November 14! They are looking to compile a wide variety of themes. Baskets will be bid on to raise money for the scholarship fund. So far, about half of the homerooms have signed up and claimed a theme – thank you! To participate, pick a theme, use this link to sign-up, and start gathering items to create something fun and unique. Don’t have time to run to stores? Consider creating a registry to share with the class! Baskets can be dropped off at the front office any time between now and October 31. Reach out to Shannon McDonald with any questions or ideas.

BOX TOPS: Did you know you can connect your Walmart account to your Box Tops for Education (BTFE) account and earn money for the school, with very little effort? In your BTFE App, click on ‘Connected Accounts’ and follow the prompts for Walmart. Whenever you go to Walmart or do a pick-up order (using that same saved payment method), your BT money will automatically be applied to your account. It’s so easy to do–no more scanning (for Walmart only).

Here are some other ways to earn extra BTs this month:

When participants refer a friend and their friend scans a receipt or shops with their Walmart connected account, schools will earn 100 Bonus Box Tops ($10)! Ends 9‌/‌30.

We have earned $58.10 so far, and our goal for the school year is $500! 3rd grade is currently leading the school with 28 BTs and 7th grade has 20 BTs. Keep up the great work!

Any questions? Contact Amy Sherrard, wcgs.boxtops@gmail.com. Thank you!

Artsonia- Artsonia is an online art gallery of not only WCGS students’ artwork but of those from around the nation. Parent volunteers upload WCGS artwork as it becomes available through the artsonia app to our children’s portfolios.  Once you are connected to your child’s gallery, you, and other loved ones you connect with, can view the art online, leave comments, and order quality keepsakes featuring your child’s artwork. Kids love seeing their own masterpieces online and on merchandise!

Even more exciting is that 20% of the money earned from these purchases are returned to WCGS! You can’t go wrong!

To have access to your child’s art gallery, you need to take action!

Click here to get connected to your child’s artwork.

Once you are connected and log in, you can upload current and past years of artwork and even creative videos from home in a few steps by downloading the Artsonia app yourself.  Artsonia is a great way to capture and celebrate your child’s years of creativity and growth in visual arts in one place!

Contact Kristen Wilding or Michelle Norman at wcgs.artsonia@gmail.com for questions, help connecting to the program or if you would like to help upload the artwork!

TEACHER BLESSING FUND/STAFF APPRECIATION: Did you know that there is still time to DONATE to the Teacher Blessings and Staff Appreciation funds? The ordering website is open for donations through the end of September and we would love to collect as many funds as possible to bless our AMAZING teachers and staff that are with our kids each and every day. Here are a few FAQ’s that we hope will encourage you to participate in this awesome opportunity!

What does our money go toward for Teacher Blessings?

Your money will go directly toward purchasing gifts for your child’s teacher. Each year we sum up the total dollar amount given per grade level and divide the total between the homeroom teachers in that grade. This larger sum of money allows Room Parents to purchase gift cards for the teacher’s favorite stores, fancy it up with their favorite treats or flowers, and present it as a class to bless the teacher. If a large sum of money is collected, Room Parents can also purchase an end of year gift for the teacher from the class or find little ways to bless them throughout the year.

Why do we do it this way at WCGS?

We believe it’s a win/win! Life gets busy and shopping for teacher gifts can sneak up on you. Combining money into one pot allows us to purchase larger gift cards that give the teachers a chance to “splurge” on fun purchases or dinners out. The presentation of a class gift can be a sweet chance for the whole class to participate in celebrating their teacher.

What about all of the supporting staff at WCGS? How are they celebrated?

Part of our mission as the Auxiliary is to support and bless all of the staff at WCGS! Some of the proceeds of our fundraisers are used to give gift cards to EVERY staff member on their birthday and a gift check at Christmas!

If the Auxiliary handles Christmas and Birthday gifts for staff, what is the Staff Appreciation Fund used for?

For one special week in April, we get to spoil our teachers and staff for all their hard work over the course of the school year. Meals are served, treats are brought in, and we get to give a small gift for each member of the WCGS team as a token of our appreciation. In order to do that, the Auxiliary collects donations for the Staff Appreciation fund at the beginning of the school year which will allow us to buy a gift card for every staff member to be presented during this wonderful week in April.

How do I donate?

The easiest way to donate is to visit www.ezschoolapps.com and login the same way you did to order lunch at the beginning of the school year.  If that doesn’t work for you or you have never logged into the system and would prefer a different method, you can fill out this form  and submit payment via Venmo (@WCGSAux) or a check. Regardless of the method, we would like for all donations to be submitted by October 1, 2025.
