FLANNEL FORMAL | WCGS Scholarship Auction & Trivia Night!
Invitations are in the mail! Join us on Friday, November 13, 6:30 p.m. at WCGS for our Annual Scholarship Auction. This is a community event you won’t want to miss. Get ready to dress up, add a touch of plaid, and enjoy an evening of dinner, music, trivia, and an incredible silent auction all while supporting our Scholarship Fund!
Have a favorite vacation home, weekend retreat, or unforgettable experience you’d be willing to share? We are actively seeking unique items and experiences to feature at the auction. Whether it’s a cozy cabin, a beach escape, tickets to a special event, or an experience your family loves, we’d love to hear from you!
We are also seeking event sponsors! If you would enjoy the opportunity to donate or showcase your business to our community, we’d love to connect. By sponsoring the dinner, you’ll help eliminate overhead to maximize impact on the scholarship fund. All donations are tax-deductible. Options include Table Sponsor – $500 (25 available) or Buffet Sponsor – $5,000 (3 available).

Parent Series Prayer and Worship Event
This year, we are pleased to announce that the Parent Series will focus on uniting our school community through intentional evenings of prayer, worship, and fellowship. These gatherings are designed to provide parents with an opportunity to connect with one another, pray together, and encourage each other as we raise our children to love and follow the Lord.
Please plan to join us and mark your calendar for our first Parent Series event on Wednesday, October 7, at 7:00 p.m. Register here if you plan to attend. **Please denote on the registration if you are in need of childcare for your WCGS student(s). Childcare is limited.

Sports Spotlight
IESA State Boys’ Golf Tournament Recap
The boys’ golf team represented you well this past Friday at Metamora Fields Golf Course. We placed sixth out of eight teams. In doing so, there were only eight strokes that separated us from a third-place finish. We were right there. This year’s tournament was highly competitive. We were all so proud of the boys, their play, but most importantly, their testimony to those who watched them play.
Our BIG news is that Lucas Burkhart placed first. He is the State Champion, our first State Champion. Lucas shot a four under par, 67, to win by two strokes. He completes a stellar run in the IESA Tournament. Three straight Sectional Championships, a third-place finish at State last year, and first place this year. However, what stood out the most was how Lucas carries himself. He is a gentleman, courteous and kind, encourages and compliments his opponents, has a calm demeanor whether it is going well or he is struggling a bit. He has become a respected team leader. Numerous parents, players, and coaches complimented him on his play, and not only that, but who he is as a person.
Congratulations to the team and Lucas on a great run in this year’s IESA State Boys’ Golf Tournament. Thanks be to God.
Notable Notes
Picture Retakes on Tuesday, September 29
- IF YOUR CHILD WAS ABSENT ON PICTURE DAY… he/she has been automatically added to our retake list, which will take place during normal school hours on September 29. No need to do anything further.
- IF YOU ARE UNHAPPY WITH HOW PICTURES TURNED OUT…you have the option to sign up for retakes on the JostensPIX website. Be warned that the retake will be the picture that is used for the yearbook. (While you have the option to select which pose you would like to purchase, yearbook poses are selected by Jostens). To sign up, look for the link at the top right of the JostensPIX site that reads “SIGN UP FOR RETAKES,” and your student will be added to the list.
2027-2028 Admissions Applications
We love welcoming siblings of our current students! Applications for admissions for 2027-2028 are available on FACTS Family Portal under Apply/Enroll. Current WCGS families will have priority in admissions if the application is submitted by September 30, 2026. Community Corner
Hill Takers Campfire Night
Join other dads from the WCGS community and other local Christian men in the area for CAMPFIRE…a FREE night of Food, Fire, and Fellowship hosted by the Hill Takers Foundation. School dad, Jason Amato, will be sharing three mini messages specific to men each followed by small group discussion around firepits. There will be a great dinner provided as well. Get to Know Wheaton Academy

Middle school students and their parents are invited to Get to Know Wheaton Academy October 1 or November 12 at 6:45 p.m. This evening will provide an opportunity for families to learn about our school’s commitment to academics, spiritual life, co-curricular activities, and college readiness, as well as experience the community, connection, and culture that Wheaton Academy offers our students and families.
Our time together will include:

- Meet and Greet with Teachers, Coaches, and Program Leaders

WA Family Picnic
Wheaton Academy is inviting ALL families to their Third Annual Family Picnic on Friday, October 9, as part of their Homecoming Activities. The event will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m. We have everything for a night of family fun! FREE pony rides, camel rides, petting zoo, bounce houses, face painting, and balloon sculptures. Burger 302, Billy Bricks Pizza, King Kream Ice Cream, and The WA Shack will be selling from their food trucks! A live band will be performing 50’s and 60’s classics, and the football game will start at 7:30 as well. Come out for dinner, fellowship, kids’ activities, and football! Dress in your maroon wear for a maroon out night! See you there!
