You’re Invited! Scholarship Auction & Trivia Night – November 14, 6:30 p.m.

Still trying to determine if you’d like to attend? Let’s answer a few common questions to help you decide:

Q: Is the Scholarship Auction just a fancy event for a certain type of crowd?

A: Not at all.

This event is for everyone – whether you’re bidding or just coming to enjoy the night. The goal isn’t just fundraising; it’s fellowship, fun, and bringing glory to God. Every guest matters and your presence is a huge encouragement to our community.

Q: What if I can’t bid on anything – should I still come?

A: Yes! Please do.

You don’t need to spend a dime to be a part of the celebration. There’s no pressure to buy or bid. Just come, enjoy the evening, cheer others on, and be part of what God is doing at WCGS.

Q: Can I bring friends or family even if they don’t attend WCGS?

A: Yes! The more, the merrier.

This will be a great night to invite others into our community and let them experience the joy and mission of WCGS.

Q: What’s the real purpose of the auction?

A: To celebrate God’s goodness and support students and families.

Every dollar raised helps make Christ-centered education accessible for more families. But even more than that, it’s a night to thank God, build community, and have some fun together!

Q: What if I want to help but can’t give financially?

A: Your presence, prayers, and encouragement are powerful ways to support!

Q: Do I have to dress up?

A: No!

This year’s theme is setting the tone for Nashville vibes – casual southern charm. Feel free to keep it simple, or lean in to wearing some vibrant hues, denim, and anything with a touch of twang (boots included).

Book that babysitter! This night is for YOU! Whether you’re able to give financially or not, your presence is a gift. Let’s come together for the many reasons we have to Gather, Give, and Glorify!

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences are only three weeks away on November 6-7. Please remember that there is no school on these days for students. We will again be utilizing the PTC Wizard system to do on-line conference sign-ups and manage our Parent-Teacher Conference schedules. You will be receiving information about this from Beth Wright on Friday, October 24, with specific instructions on how and when you are able to sign up. We look forward to connecting with many of you during those two days. We know it takes time and planning on your part to join these conferences, but we are confident that it is a worthwhile endeavor as we seek to gain a more complete picture of who your children are and what they need as individuals.

Notable Notes

Veterans Day Assembly

We have always looked forward to our annual Veterans Day Assembly each November. We believe it is important that we pause and remember all that this day represents. Our assembly will be taking place in the gym on Tuesday, November 11, at 10:45 a.m. We’d love to honor the veterans in our school community by showing their picture in a slide show that students will see during the program. Any student with a parent, grandparent, or other family member who IS or HAS BEEN a member of the Armed Forces is invited to email a picture of that individual to Lauren Fortosis by Friday, October 31, so that it can be included in a tribute video. (If you have submitted information for the video in the past, we will automatically include it in this year’s video unless you contact us indicating that it needs to be removed). Please include the following information with your picture:

  • Student Name:
  • Veteran’s/Active Duty Soldier’s Name:
  • Relationship to Student:
  • Branch of Service:

We would also love to invite veterans who are family members of current students to attend the assembly (in uniform if possible) to be introduced. Our guests of honor and their families will have a reserved seating section that is easily accessible. A short reception with refreshments will follow the assembly.  If you have a veteran who can attend, please RSVP to Lauren Fortosis by Friday, October 31.
