MOTHER & SON EVENT: DATE CHANGE! We are excited to announce that we are moving this year’s Mother & Son event to the SPRING! We hope this date will be more accommodating and give us the opportunity to be outdoors! More information to come. Moms and Sons, we will see you in the SPRING!
STAFF APPRECIATION: Our second Staff Appreciation Lunch is Thursday, October 23. Staff Appreciation Lunch is such a fun way to celebrate and bless the amazing teachers and staff that serve our children every day! This month we are serving tacos and all the fixings. If you are able, please see the SignUp Genius HERE to donate specific food items to help make this an extra special lunch. This is a wonderful opportunity to show our gratitude to the teachers and staff of WCGS. Thank you for your generosity!

FOOD DRIVE: OCTOBER 21-23 is the ANNUAL WCGS FOOD DRIVE! Join the WCGS community in collecting non-perishable food items as well as paper products, diapers (baby and adult), personal hygiene products, and pet food. Items will be donated to Wayne Township for distribution. Look for a cart at both the kindergarten and front door during morning drop off. Auxiliary will celebrate the grade that brings in the most items with a donut party on October 28. Contact Michelle at wcgs.fooddrive@gmail.com with any questions.

CHRISTMAS SALE:
’Tis the season to be planning for the Children’s Christmas Sale! We especially need volunteers to join us for set-up on December 4 and clean-up after the sale on December 5. There are also several other opportunities open for the beloved sale on December 5; it’s always such a fun day! Even if you only have 30 minutes, please consider giving your time to help make this fun and festive event possible. Click here to see our updated volunteer and donation opportunities!
JR HIGH PARENTS: We will once again be hosting a Christmas Social for all junior high students the same day of the Christmas Sale. The social will consist of crafts, music, games, and snacks. We are in need of donations and volunteers; please click here to sign up.
HIGHLIGHTS & REMINDERS:
STAFF FAVORITES: The 2025-2026 Staff Favorites document is now live, with some improvements! You can now search for your staff member, click on their name, and get a one-page printable document with all of their favorites and preferences. We are still working on adding additional staff members over the next few weeks, so please reach out to wcgs.auxiliaryvp@gmail.com if you can’t find your staff member listed.
SCHOLARSHIP AUCTION HOMEROOM BASKETS: As announced at the Fall Fellowship Gatherings, the Scholarship Auction Committee is calling all homerooms to consider working together to create a curated gift basket to donate to our Scholarship Auction coming up on November 14! They are looking to compile a wide variety of themes. Baskets will be bid on to raise money for the scholarship fund. So far, about half of the homerooms have signed up and claimed a theme – thank you! To participate, pick a theme, use this link to sign-up, and start gathering items to create something fun and unique. Don’t have time to run to stores? Consider creating a registry to share with the class! Baskets can be dropped off at the front office any time between now and October 31. Reach out to Shannon McDonald with any questions or ideas.
BOX TOPS: National Box Tops Week: October 13-19
You can earn DOUBLE Box Tops on participating products during the National Box Tops Week! So many products from snacks to cereals to yogurt. You can check out the participating products on the Box Tops for Education app. Download the app, and you can also link your Walmart account. This makes earning Box Tops for WCGS even easier! We have already earned $117.20 this year, so we are off to a great start. Let’s keep it going this week!

ARTSONIA- Artsonia is an online art gallery of not only WCGS students’ artwork but of those from around the nation. Parent volunteers upload WCGS artwork as it becomes available through the artsonia app to our children’s portfolios. Once you are connected to your child’s gallery, you, and other loved ones you connect with, can view the art online, leave comments, and order quality keepsakes featuring your child’s artwork. Kids love seeing their own masterpieces online and on merchandise!
Even more exciting is that 20% of the money earned from these purchases are returned to WCGS! You can’t go wrong!
