Join Us:
SPARTAN SOCIAL: Join us for a fun, family event on Friday, September 11, after school until 5:30 p.m. on the WCGS Field! There will be fun for all ages: bounce house obstacle courses, cake walks, games, and multiple food truck options! This is an awesome opportunity to kick-off the school year together as a community!
NEW! This year, we are super excited to offer 3 food truck options: Stay tuned for more details on vendors. Please come prepared with cash or card for the food trucks, and blankets or lawn chairs for your family to enjoy a picnic together!
To make this event happen, we need YOUR help! We are looking for volunteers to provide baked goods for the Cake Walk and we are also looking for volunteers to help supervise different activities during the event*. Thank you in advance for your support!

Moms in Prayer
Interested in praying with other moms? Please join us for our first gathering, or anytime you can make it! All moms are welcome at our first meeting of the year on Monday, September 14, in Room 308 (Spanish/Extended Care Room). This is the first Monday after Labor Day.
If you didn’t have a chance to sign up at the Moms in Prayer table during the first day of school, or you aren’t sure you can make the Monday prayer gatherings but would like to stay informed about Moms in Prayer events, we’d still love to connect with you! Email us at: momsinprayer@wheatonchristian.org to be added to our email list. We’ll keep you updated on prayer meeting times, special gatherings, and fellowship opportunities throughout the year. We hope you’ll join us as we pray for our children, teachers, and school community.

Do you desire to support others through prayer in the WCGS Community? Sign up to be part of the WCGS Prayer Chain where you will receive email updates on ways you may rejoice with others, pray for one another, and lift up urgent requests as they arise. LUNCH VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS:
Monday and Wednesday lunches need YOU! Volunteer opportunities are still available to make a difference at our WCGS lunch service. Volunteers help with setting up, serving, and cleaning up. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve the school, meet other parents, hug your kids, and get to know the wonderful WCGS student body. If you would like to serve in this way, please email the lunch chairs below to learn more about this opportunity and be added to the volunteer list! There are four weeks to choose from, and the commitment is as little as once a month – or as many weeks as you would like!

SUMMER READING CELEBRATION VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
We are excited to celebrate all of the reading that students did over the summer this Friday, September 4! If you can help with setup or supervising this event, please email Mrs. Brown at: jbrown@wheatonchristian.org. Set-up will take place in the library on Thursday, September 3, from 1:00-3:25 p.m. The reading celebration for Friday is listed below by grade. You are welcome to come volunteer just for your child’s grade or stay as long as you can to help.

THE WCGS AUXILIARY has been a tradition at Wheaton Christian Grammar School for more than 50 years. Our purpose is to “serve God by helping to meet the spiritual, social, and practical needs of the school and its families.” Our many volunteers, in partnership with the staff and faculty, bring to life the spirit of the school, as they give their time and energy graciously with servant hearts. Donations for the year for the Junior High Special Lunches, the Staff Appreciation Fund, and the Teacher Blessing Fund are STILL OPEN and it’s not too late to contribute. WCGS SPIRIT WEAR: It is not too late to purchase WCGS Spirit Wear! You can shop online at Squad Locker HERE. We will also be selling Spirit Wear at the Spartan Social on Friday, September 11. Don’t forget, students can wear spirit wear every day of the school year, so it’s a great time to stock up! Purchasing spirit wear is a great way to help promote our school and raise funds for the WCGS Auxiliary. The money raised is used to help support the many exciting events we do throughout the year.
