VOLUNTEER
BOOK FAIR: The BOOK FAIR is coming and we need YOU! Opportunities to help include set-up on November 16 and 17 before the sale begins, as well as helping with sales and book selection before, during, and after school on November 18, 19, 20, and 23. There will also be volunteers needed at our WCGS Family Night on Thursday, November 20, and Grandparents Day on Tuesday, November 24. If you are able to volunteer, please sign-up HERE. Classes will be coming during their normal library time which is listed in the sign up. Additional information for KE, 3rd and Junior high will be added to the Sign-Up Genius as it is confirmed with teachers. CHRISTMAS SALE VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP: ’Tis the season to be planning for the Children’s Christmas Sale on Friday, December; 4. We need volunteers for all aspects of the sale, including set-up, sales, ornament decorating, clean-up, and purchasing items for next year’s sale. Please consider giving your time to help make this fun, festive, and beloved tradition possible. Click HERE to sign up. HIGHLIGHTS AND REMINDERS
FINAL WEEK TO CLAIM LOST AND FOUND ITEMS – all Lost and Found unclaimed items will be donated THIS FRIDAY, October 2. Please take time to visit the lost and found. There are two locations: The Commons for K-5 and the Junior High Hallway for grades 6-8.
NEW LOST AND FOUND PROCESS: With a new school year comes new ideas and processes. This year, the Lost and Found will be handled a little differently to avoid accumulating the large amounts of clothing we held onto last year.
- Monthly Reminders: A reminder will be sent in the auxiliary email during the 3rd week of each month prompting you to check for missing items.
- Monthly Donations: All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of each month. We will no longer be holding onto items long-term.
- Labeled Items: If your child’s name is written on an item, we will bring it to the front office. The office will then send a note or make a quick call to notify you. Please note that it will be the student’s responsibility to retrieve the item from the front office.
- New Location: There is a new table for junior high items only. This is located inside the new junior high entrance on the wall to the right before you walk into the hallway connecting it to the old building. (The students frequently pass this location to and from classes)

BOX TOPS: Have you downloaded the Box Top for Education (BTFE) App yet? Download the app today and start earning money for WCGS! You can also connect your Walmart account to your Box Tops account and earn money for the school, with very little effort. Click HERE to watch a short video on how to link your Box Tops to your Walmart account for automatic earnings. Whenever you go to Walmart or do a pick-up order (using that same saved payment method), your Box Top money will automatically be applied to your account. It’s so easy to do–no more scanning (for Walmart only). We have a goal of $500, and we have earned $97.70 this school year. Keep up the good work! EZ SCHOOL APP DONATIONS STILL OPEN: FINAL WEEK FOR ALL CONTRIBUTIONS!!!! Donations for the Junior High Special Lunches, the Staff Appreciation Fund, and the Teacher Blessing Fund will close October 2. Student and parent volunteers upload WCGS artwork as it becomes available through the Artsonia App, to our children’s portfolios. Once you are connected to your child’s gallery, you and other loved ones you connect with, can view the art online and order quality keepsakes featuring your child’s artwork. Kids love seeing their own masterpieces online and on merchandise! Even more exciting is that 20% of the money earned from these purchases is returned to WCGS! You can’t go wrong!
