No More Vendor Lunch Deliveries to Campus I am grateful that we are a school where we can allow parents to be present on our campus during the school day to attend chapels, class parties, special events, and to make the occasional delivery of forgotten items. We are always happy to welcome and support our families. However, to better ensure the security of the school by limiting the number of unfamiliar guests entering our campus, we no longer allow deliveries to be made by restaurants or delivery services. We recognize that on occasion, a student may receive a special lunch from a parent for a birthday or unique circumstance; however, we need to limit how often this takes place and would ask that you make it the exception and not the norm. Only parents or immediate family members should deliver food for students during the school day. Frequent food deliveries are a challenge to manage and have the potential of being disruptive to teachers and classmates. The front desk has a supply of back up snacks that have been provided by a generous school family for when a lunch has been forgotten and is not able to be delivered by a family member. We do ask that the student call home prior to receiving these snacks for accountability, but please be aware that this option exists when needed. Thank you for your understanding and attention to this topic. We desire to continue to be a school where parents are highly involved, and your support of this policy will certainly help us in this area.Parent-Teacher ConferencesParent-Teacher Conferences are only three weeks away on November 2-3. Please remember that there is no school on these days for students. We will again be utilizing the PTC Wizard system to do on-line conference sign-ups and manage our Parent-Teacher Conference schedules. You will be receiving information about this from Beth Wright on Friday, October 20, with specific instructions on how and when you are able to sign up. We look forward to connecting with many of you during those two days. We know it takes time and planning on your part to join these conferences, but we are confident that it is a worthwhile endeavor, as we seek to gain a more complete picture of who your children are and what they need as individuals.

Wheaton Academy Parent Event

As part of the WCGS Parent Series, we invite you to save the date for Tuesday, November 14, at 7:00 p.m. in the Wheaton Academy Fine Arts Center to hear Alisa Childers. How can we help equip our kids to have a Christian worldview in an increasingly secularized culture? Join us on November 14 to hear from author, singer, and apologist Alisa Childers. She will share tips about how Christian parents can teach their kids discernment by exposing them to bad ideas in an age-appropriate manner and teaching them to analyze media from a biblical perspective. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Please use this link to secure your registration.

Crossing Guards Wanted!

Many of you have seen Mr. Koslosky helping each morning along Coventry Drive.  Since District 200 has changed to an earlier start time this year, we want to partner with our neighbors to help ensure their kids can safely walk to and from school.  WCGS is hoping to hire several crossing guards for morning arrival and afternoon dismissal, and we need your help to find the right people for the job! We are looking for kind and conscientious individuals with great interpersonal skills to interact with our families and broader community.  If you or someone you know would be interested in this position, you can find out more by filling out the application on our website: WCGS Crossing Guard Application.
