MAP Growth Testing in April Similar to in the fall, our students will be taking the MAP Growth Assessment in April. All students will be taking one test in math and one test in reading with their homeroom teacher. Each test will average approximately one hour. Below are the testing dates for students at the various grade levels:
It is extremely important that your children are in attendance on these days so that they take the test with their class. Please make this a priority. Thank you! |
Shorts/Dresses/Skirts
Warmer weather means a change in attire! As we all know, kids grow fast, so please double-check to ensure that their warm-weather clothing still meets the WCGS Appearance Code guidelines when it comes to length. The primary goal is that students’ attire is modest, neat, clean, and safe. Here are some important reminders about shorts/dresses/skirts as we head into the fourth quarter:
- Students in grades K-5 may wear shorts during the fourth quarter.
- Shorts must come to mid-thigh, at a minimum.
- Skirts, skorts (tennis/golf skirts), and dresses must touch the knee when standing (and have no slits above mid-thigh).
- Leggings may be worn under dresses and skirts that meet appearance code, but leggings may not be worn as pants.
- Athletic/sport shorts are not permitted.
Our teachers and administrators do their very best to enforce the appearance code daily. We don’t scan students regularly to see if they are “in code,” as that is not our heart in the matter. When we see something that doesn’t align with our appearance code, we do say something. We obviously don’t catch everything, but we are trying to be consistent. Please actively support the school by enforcing the appearance code at home. Thank you!
