Why the Johnston Family Chose WCGS

Doug and Stacia Johnston had homeschooled their three children as they were growing up, but as their oldest child was approaching 7th grade a decision was made to put her into a traditional school setting. After being impressed with the positive, nurturing, and Christ-centered culture that WCGS provided, they decided to enroll their oldest in the fall of 2013.

They went on to send all three of their children to WCGS, watching them flourish and be challenged in experiences both in and out of the classroom. Athletics at WCGS especially taught their children big life lessons, as well as being on the Praise Team, which not only challenged their middle daughter musically but also in her faith. The teachers poured out an energetic and joyful spirit that permeated the building whenever they visited while also showing an evident love for the Lord. They know that the teachers and leaders of the school are solid mentors for their children and that they truly have an intentional desire to provide a Christ-centered education.

During their transition to WCGS, the Johnstons commend the “veteran” WCGS families who went out of their way to make them feel welcome at the school. “WCGS fosters an environment that is loving, caring, and thoughtful in how it incorporates the Christian faith in everything it does,” said Stacia. “You would be hard-pressed to find another school that employs people from top to bottom who love and care for the children who have been entrusted to them in the way WCGS does.”
