Crossing Guard Help Needed
Many of you have seen the additional locations we have established for crossing supervision each morning and afternoon. WCGS is hoping to hire several crossing guards for morning arrival and afternoon dismissal for some of these locations, and we need your help to find the right people for the job! We are looking for kind and conscientious individuals with great interpersonal skills to interact with our families and broader community either one day or several days each week. Our hope is to have a team of individuals who have flexible schedules. If you are interested in helping once a week or taking this on more permanently, we would love to connect with you. If you or someone you know would be interested in serving in this paid position, please email Lauren Fortosis. Our Administrators and Staff will still be a part of the crossing guard team, but a few extra individuals will help us round out the group.
“Grace and Truth” Parent Event at Wheaton Academy
WCGS Parents are invited Tuesday, February 13, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. to the Wheaton Academy Fine Arts Center to hear from Dr. Christopher Yuan as he shares his testimony, speaking on sexuality and identity during Wheaton Academy’s Spiritual Life Week. This is not a ticketed event. However, your registration is requested at this link. Some of the greatest questions of this generation revolve around identity and sexuality. Many young people are asking the question, “What does the Bible really say about these issues?” Students want to know the truth and how to receive and extend grace as they interact with their friends and culture. Dr. Christopher Yuan is one of the most noted voices of our time and we are excited that he will be our speaker for Spring Spiritual Life Week. He is a graduate from Moody Bible Institute and received a Master’s in Biblical Exegesis in 2007 and a Doctorate of Ministry in 2014. Christopher taught the Bible at Moody Bible Institute for twelve years and his speaking ministry on faith and sexuality has reached five continents. He speaks at conferences, on college campuses, in schools, and in churches. Dr. Yuan has co-authored with his mother their memoir, Out of a Far Country: A Gay Son’s Journey to God, A Broken Mother’s Search for Hope, which has sold over 100,000 copies and is now in eight languages. Dr. Yuan’s newest book, Holy Sexuality and the Gospel: Sex, Desire, and Relationships Shaped by God’s Grand Story, was named the 2020 Book of the Year for Social Issues by Outreach Magazine. His powerful testimony and Biblical insight will challenge, encourage, and give hope.
