Steve Clum Receives ACSI Career Service Award

Steve Clum presented with the ACSI Career Service Award, the highest award ACSI bestows.

Today was a momentous day full of celebration for WCGS! Not only was it our final chapel of the academic year, where we traditionally gather to reflect on all of the powerful ways the Lord has been at work in the school, but also a time for worthy recognition of Steve Clum, a faithful leader of WCGS for the past 47 years.

To conclude the year-end chapel, Steve was presented with the ACSI Career Service Award, the highest award ACSI bestows. This award was “established to give appropriate recognition to individuals who have dedicated all or a significant portion of their professional career to Christian Education, and in the process have made important contributions to the Christian school movement, impacting countless lives.” The Senior Director of the ACSI Central Division, Jeff Mattner, graciously joined us from Indianapolis to present the award and share the news with our entire school community!

During the presentation of the award, Jeff Mattner shared a letter with the school from Dr. Larry Taylor, the President of ACSI. The letter spoke praise to Steve, “I am encouraged by your (Steve) obedient response to God’s call on your life, evidenced by your faithful years of ministry. I am certain there are many colleagues and students who could share personal testimonies of the impact you have had on their lives, and you will likely not know the full extent of that impact on this side of eternity.” There is no doubt that Steve has impacted countless lives. In fact, we imagine that many of you reading this article right now could attest to Steve’s impact on your lives. Current students, alumni, WCGS families, and colleagues can substantiate Steve’s unwavering commitment to Christ, His Kingdom, and to the mission of Wheaton Christian Grammar School “to educate, train, and nurture children for godliness and excellence.”

The Lord has worked through Steve Clum in mighty ways during his time at WCGS. In a WCGS article posted last month, he shared, “Although 47 years ago I never knew that this would be God’s calling on my life, it has been a wonderful privilege to invest and partner with you in the work and ministry of this very special place, God’s school.”

It is with great pride and joy that the WCGS community celebrates the Lord’s bringing Steve to WCGS and using him to accomplish God's work at God’s school. Congratulations to Steve Clum on receiving this outstanding award from ACSI!
