What are your school hours?

Full-day Kindergarten - Grade 8: 8:50 a.m. - 3:25 p.m.*
Half-day Kindergarten: 8:50 - Noon
Spanish (7th/8th gr.) begin at 7:45 a.m., M/T/Th/F
Extended Care available: 7:45 - 8:40 a.m and 3:30 - 5:45 p.m. 
*Exceptions noted on the school calendar

Office hours when school is in session: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

What geographic locations do you serve?

Among the communities represented, school families live in:
Wheaton = 30%
West Chicago = 20%
Glen Ellyn = 11%
Carol Stream = 8%
Winfield = 7%
St. Charles = 7%
The remaining 17% live in several dozen other communities in the western suburbs of Chicago. 

Where do your families attend church?

Our families attend over 75 different churches in the Chicago suburbs. The most attended churches are Wheaton Bible Church, College Church, Harvest Bible Chapel, Willow Creek - DuPage, Willow Creek - Barrington, Glen Ellyn Bible Church, First Presbyterian Church Glen Ellyn, and Compass Church. 

Do students wear uniforms?

No, but we do have a dress code for our students. Follow this link for our school appearance code.

Do you have a lunch program?

Lunches are available for purchase each quarter and are delivered to the school each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday*.

Do students have recess?

Students in grades K-5 have recess outdoors every day, weather permitting. Students must have required attire for the playground during winter months.

Do you have traditions throughout the school year?

Yes! We have many fun yearly traditions during each school year. Here are some of our favorites: 8th Grade Challenge, Fall Family Fun Night, Grandparents' Day, Children's Christmas Sale, Christmas Gift Chapel, Missions Emphasis Weeks, Spring Musical, Field Day, and Jr. High Gala. How do your students perform on testing?

Wheaton Christian Grammar School students have historically demonstrated very strong achievement test performance with both the Stanford Achievement Tests (used until 2011) and more recently with the TerraNova 3 (used since 2012). Our median for 2018 was 92-8: outstanding, and 75.1% of our students scored in the above average category. 

What high schools do your graduates attend?

There were 79 graduates in the class of 2018. Seventy-seven percent of our 2018 graduates enrolled at Wheaton Academy (Christian High School, West Chicago).

Wheaton Christian Grammar School enjoys full nonpublic school recognition from the Illinois State Board of Education and is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and by AdvancED (NCA CASI).  All full-time faculty are certified by both the Illinois State Board of Education and ACSI.
