ASCI Speech Meet

Once again, WCGS will be participating in the ACSI Speech Meet at Calvary School in Naperville . For the past five years this has been a great opportunity for students to use their speaking skills to honor the Lord and receive feedback about their abilities.

The speech meet will be held on Friday, March 8 th , and is open to students in grades 1-6. These are the categories for each grade:

 

Grade 1: Poetry:(2 students will be chosen per homeroom.)

Bible Memorization

 

Grade 2-4 Poetry: (2 students will be chosen per homeroom.)

Bible Memorization

Fable & Folklore

 

Grades 5&6 Poetry:( 2 students for each category per homeroom.)

Bible Memorization

Dramatic Bible Prose (Bible Stories)

Patriotic Oration

Original Speech (special guidelines for this)

 

At this time, all students who are considering participation in the meet will need to choose a selection to memorize by Jan. 17 th .

Mrs. Dominguez and I will be available to help pick out selections during the week of January 14 th( (Monday through Thursday)after school in Mrs. Toedt's room. (102) from 3:30-4:30.

Please note that this year the Wheaton Academy matinee performance is also on the day of the Speech Meet, and the students in grades 4-6 will need to choose which event to attend. Thanks!
