DeMoulin joins WCGS as interim principal
July 25, 2012
Dear WCGS friends and families,
As we head into the final weeks of the summer recess for students, I want you to know about an important addition to our 2012-2013 administrative staff. I am pleased to report that Mr. Mark DeMoulin has accepted our offer to serve as interim principal for the coming school year.
You may recall our announcement in the spring semester that Mr. Mike Rogers had resigned to accept a position with By The Hand in Chicago. That announcement precipitated discussion with the Board of Directors to assess options for filling this key position. We decided that the best course of action was to secure an interim principal to allow sufficient time for an organized and comprehensive search process.
God's providential leading was clear as we began considering Mr. DeMoulin for the interim appointment. Our need coincided with his retirement from 33 years as a career educator. Mark has served as a teacher (both elementary and junior high), assistant principal, and principal since 1979. He knows our community well, having served schools in Naperville, Wheaton, Hanover Park, and West Chicago. His last assignment was as principal of Naperville's Mill Street Elementary School where he worked from 2004 until June of this year. I have been privileged to know Mark for many years as a committed Christian who has worked effectively in the public school arena. As he approached retirement, he had spoken informally to me of his desire to use his experience to serve a Christian school at some point. We did not realize at the time that this might mean Wheaton Christian Grammar School!
In addition to being a respected educator and administrator, Mark DeMoulin is a man of strong Christian conviction and character. Many of you already know Mark and his wife Karen through their involvement at Wheaton Bible Church. His service there included a Go Team mission trip in 2009.
Mark DeMoulin holds a M.S.E. from Illinois State University and B.S. from Greenville College. He and Karen are the parents of three adult children. His work at WCGS will begin on August 1, and he will attend an orientation along with new faculty on August 1 and 2.
Please join me in welcoming Mr. DeMoulin to our school and in praying for his assimilation into the interim position. We will keep you informed about the search for a principal as the details unfold. Our year verse takes on special significance as we consider the search ahead: Proverbs 2:6, "For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding."
